Things to Watch out for

As we move into Lessons 20-30, we start to place greater emphasis on phonics.  We will still learn new sight words each day but we can also practice more sounds and phonics.   Hopefully your little reader is confident and reading fluently.  If he/she is not, pause, take two steps back and practice until they are confident.  Go back to where your little reader is confident and build forward again.   Confidence is most important...a confident reader LOVES to read....a struggling reader does not like reading and does not like to practice or learning to read.  Take that step back to the point of confidence if you need to!
